Suzuki’s stylish Alto, one of the very cleanest petrol powered five door City Cars on sale at 103g/km has taken part in the annual Bridgestone Eco-Rally. The Rally, now in its fourth year, was run from Brighton to London on Wednesday 8th July. The Alto achieved impressive results completing the 59 mile journey - including some dense traffic - using less than five litres of fuel.

The Bridgestone Eco-Rally, organised by Revolve, was opened by the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, Chris Huhne and started on Madeira Drive in Brighton at 10.30am.  With a pit-stop in Central London the Rally finished at 3pm at the Royal Albert Memorial in Hyde Park.

The Eco Rally is open to manufacturers, companies and private individuals who were all keen to showcase their latest low and zero emissions vehicles. Suzuki, well known as the small car experts, demonstrated again that compact and high efficiency petrol powered cars of simple, lightweight design and low cost can also make a difference.

Other entrants included fully electric cars and commercial vehicles, scooters, petrol / electric hybrids, high technology diesels and hydrogen fuel cell power.

Speaking about the event, David Seward, Senior Director for Sales and Marketing at Suzuki commented; “The annual Eco-Rally has been another fantastic opportunity for the company to show its strong commitment to producing cleaner, lower emission-producing cars.  The Alto has proved today that not only does it keep up with the “pack” but it can do so in a clean and efficient way, producing very low emissions, a combined fuel consumption of more than 64mpg and just £20 in annual road tax.”

The Alto is available from just £6,995 under the latest low rate offers available from Suzuki Financial services and from £7,655 as an outright purchase or with Zero per cent finance, payable over three years with a 10 per cent deposit.
